CONTINUUM THEORY OF PROBES IN MODERATELY IONIZED GASES.

Abstract

The equations governing the collection of charged particles from a plasma by an electrostatic probe are written in ellipsoidal geometry, including the effects of charge-charge collisions. It is shown that a simple transformation reduces these equations to those of the weakly ionized spherical case which have been solved by a number of researchers. (Author)
