PROCEDURES FOR COMPUTING VARIANCE SPECTRA.

Abstract

This is a report of the computational techniques used by the Atmospheric Sciences Research Division, Fort Huachuca, Arizona, for the digital calculation of variance (power) spectra. The techniques are essentially those of Blackman and Tukey (1959). There is a brief discussion of the basic formulas and some of the problems of spectral analysis. A flow chart and the listing of a 7090 computer program are appended. (Author)
