ERROR ANALYSIS OF THE 10-g, 30-g, AND 100-g BALLOON HEIGHT TABLES.

Abstract

The report discusses the results of tests performed at the White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), Green River, Utah site to determine the accuracy of the existing 10-gram, 30-gram, and 100-gram balloon rate-of-rise tables. The analysis presented is based on data collected from 265 flights over the periods August-September, 1967 and August-September, 1968. The tests indicate that either the existing rate-of-rise tables need revising, or an adjustment to the balloons' Free Lift/Nozzle Lift requirements appears necessary. (Author)
