AN ADAPTIVE SELF-ORGANIZING LOGIC NETWORK.
Abstract
An adaptive self-organizing logic network is presented which is intended to provide a new approach to the problems of synthesis and mechanization of logic switching functions. The network, by a trial-and-error performance feedback procedure, determines the internal organization necessary to perform any one of the 2 raised to the power (2 to the nth power) logic switching functions of n-binary input variables. A mathematical formulation is defined which presents a clear and concise means of establishing network performance and adaptive capabilities. Theorems and their proofs with examples are given which demonstrate these capabilities. Along with this a discussion is presented which indicates the straightforward manner in which a system of this type could be implemented. (Author)
