ATOMIC LINE TRANSITIONS AND RADIATION FROM HIGH TEMPERATURE AIR.

Abstract

The status of the current investigation into the absorption coefficient and atomic line contribution of high temperature air is described. The necessary computer programs are described in considerable detail. The physics approximations employed for the basic atomic data are briefly described and appropriately referenced. Some preliminary results are presented for air at temperatures 1.0 to 5.0 eV and densities from 1.0 to 10 to the minus 4 times normal. (Author)
