CALCULATION OF BINARY EUTECTIC PHASE DIAGRAMS.

Abstract

The phase diagrams of 65 simple binary eutectic phase diagrams are calculated from the properties of the elemental constituents. The liquid phase is assumed to behave as an ideal solution and the terminal solid solution regions were assumed to be ideal and of infinitely narrow width. The calculations are compared to experimental results to assess the reliability of the assumptions. (Author)
