RELATION BETWEEN INFORMATION GAIN AND ATTITUDE CHANGE: A STUDY OF PARTICIPANTS IN EXERCISE DESERT ROCK V.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to estimate the effect of atomic indoctrination on the attitudes of troops who participated in Exercise DESERT ROCK V. The interest of the report is in the change in attitude of two classes of troops: (1) Troops whose attitudes (confidence, willingness to volunteer, anxiety) were found to be relatively favorable before they left for Camp Desert Rock, Nevada; and (2) Troops whose attitudes were found to be relatively unfavorable at that time.
