DEVELOPMENT OF ZINC/AIR 24 VOLT, 20 AMPERE-HOUR STANDARD LINE BATTERY SYSTEM.

Abstract

This report describes the design and development of the 20 ampere-hour Standard Line Battery system to be utilized in military communication applications. The primary objective of this program was the development of a reliable zinc/air battery system which will include an adequate water reservoir to permit long operating life. In addition, the battery design required light weight and high strength, with a capability of being easily recharged. The battery system was also to have high energy density and be operational over a wide temperature range. (Author)
