ELECTRONIC ENERGY BANDS IN SOLIDS.

Abstract

An investigation of a number of different aspects of the electronic properties of solids is described. The work involved determination of the one electron energies and electron wave functions in a prescribed crystal potential. The main technique used was the composite wave variational method. Research fell into three categories: calculation of physical quantities depending upon knowledge of crystal wave functions; energy band theory and calculations; and molecular theory. (Author)
