NOTE ON INTERNAL WAVES IN A SIMPLE THERMOCLINE MODEL.

Abstract

The internal wave spectrum in a theoretical model of the fine structure of the thermoclines is investigated mathematically, in particular its limitation by wave induced shear instability. Agreement between the calculations and the observations J. Woods made near Malta is found to be good. (Author)
