DEVELOPMENT AND APPLICATION OF AN INTERIM FIRE-BEHAVIOR MODEL.

Abstract

The study involved the development of interim techniques for evaluating the incendiary damage to urban targets following a nuclear attack. The techniques were applied to two cities (San Jose and New Orleans). Following a survey of selected areas of these target cities, the distributions of initial fires resulting from specified, hypothetical attack were predicted and - on an hourly basis - the subsequent spread of fire throughout the cities was estimated.
