THE EFFECT OF DEOXIDATION VARIABLES ON THE TOUGHNESS OF ARMOR TYPE CAST STEELS.

Abstract

The objective of this investigation was to make a thorough examination and study of the possible procedures of deoxidation of cast steels to ascertain if it would be possible to devise or prepare a special deoxidizer, or deoxidizing method, which would improve the toughness of these steels as measured by low temperature notched-bar impact properties.
