INVESTIGATIONS OF HEAT AND MASS (WATER VAPOR AND LIQUID) MOVEMENT THROUGH CLOTHING SYSTEMS

Abstract

The report discusses research of the investigations of heat and mass (water vapor and liquid) movement through clothing systems and summarizes the results of a theoretical and experimental research program. Experimental studies included measurements of profiles of mean and fluctuating velocity, temperature, and water vapor concentration for various fabric spacings and ventilating velocities. Transfer coefficient data obtained from these profiles were compared with total water and heat loss rates.
