INVESTIGATION OF SCHOTTKY BARRIERS FOR OPTICAL DETECTION AND CATHODIC EMISSION.

Abstract

This is the final report of a four-month project to pursue the investigation of two new applications of metal-semiconductor Schottky barrier diodes which began under a previous one-year contract. The subjects investigated are photoemission from Au-p-Ge and other low-barrier-height contacts, for possible application for infrared detection near 10 micrometers and cathodic emission into vacuum from ZnS-Ag-Cs contacts, for possible use as a cold cathode.
