CALCULATED STARK PROFILES FOR THE He 4026 A LINE AND ITS FORBIDDEN COMPONENTS,
Abstract
Profiles of the helium I 4026.19A (2 triplet P - 5 triplet D) line, including contributions from the forbidden 2 triplet P - 5(triplet S, triplet P, triplet F, triplet G) transitions have been calculated using the quasi-static approximation to account for ion effects and a generalized impact approximation to describe electron effects. Tabulated profiles of the line absorption coefficient are presented which, in addition to Stark broadening, allow for the fine structure splitting of the lower level. (Author)
