SHOT SOURCE SPECTRA AND BOTTOM REFLECTIVITY DATA.

Abstract

Underwater explosive shot spectra are given for 1-lb TNT shots detonated at depths from 200 to 14,000 ft. Bottom reflections from some of these shots were monitored by hydrophones of the Hudson Laboratories vertical array, and the signals were cross correlated across pairs of hydrophones with a 500-ft spacing. The experiment occurred in deep water with an average depth of 2600 fathoms at, roughly, 20 deg 05 min N, 59 deg 54 min W, i.e., in the southern section of the North American Basin. (Author)
