THE COMPUTER-CONTROLLED EXPERIMENT AND ON-LINE ANALYSIS.

Abstract

An analysis procedure and data accumulation scheme that allows an interactive computer-control system to be implemented for a class of physical experiments is described in terms of continuously derivable experimental results. The method is applicable whenever the derivable physical parameters can be expressed in terms of integrals over functions of the measured quantities and reciprocal relationships allow prediction of the measured values in terms of the derived quantities. Applications of the analysis are shown for the measurement of short-range-order parameters in alloys. (Author)
