ON COMBINATORIAL SPHERES.
Abstract
The paper describes combinatorial spheres which are not isomorphic to the boundary complex of any convex polytope. Special attention is devoted to the case of centrally symmetric combinatorial spheres; examples are given which show that such spheres may be more neighborly than centrally symmetric polytopes.
