TRANSPORT COEFFICIENTS OF GAS MIXTURES OF ATOMIC AND MOLECULAR HYDROGEN,

Abstract

An analysis was made of the viscosity and diffusion coefficients of a binary mixture containing atomic and molecular hydrogen on the basis of a specific interaction potential curve. The theoretical results obtained with the aid of the Chapman-Enskog theory are compared with experimental data. The good agreement obtained indicates that for a system containing species with unfilled outer electronic shells the application of realistic force laws to the interaction yields satisfactory estimates of the transport coefficients.
