ON THE ROLE AND THE CHARACTERISTIC PROPERTIES OF THE STORAGE GRID IN VIEWING STORAGE TUBES FOR CONTRAST ENHANCEMENT.

Abstract

A theory of the modulation characteristic of the storage grid in a viewing storage tube was established using potential distributions measured in an electrolytic tank. It was found that the steepness of the characteristic is greater for smaller mesh pitch. Some calculated curves were compared with characteristics measured on image storage tubes. The difference found can be attributed to contact potential. (Author)
