THE HETEROGENEOUS DECOMPOSITION OF HYDRAZINE: PART I. KINETICS OF THE LIQUID PHASE DECOMPOSITION ON A SUPPORTED IRIDIUM CATALYST.

Abstract

The rate of decomposition of hydrazine on a supported iridium catalyst at 22C is a linear function of the concentration of hydrazine over the range 15-100% w/w of hydrazine. The products of the reaction are nitrogen and ammonia and the overall decomposition may be represented by the equation 3N2H4 = N2 + 4NH3. (Author)
