THE ARROWS OF TIME,

Abstract

The lecture deals with the mystery of time, its nature and irreversible character. A new challenge has been provided with the discovery of possible irreversibility at the fundamental interactions level. It seems clear that irreversibility and the existence of a time-arrow constitute a scientific problem, to be tackled jointly by physical experimentation and mathematical construction, the twin methods of physics.
