EFFICIENCY OF A LOW-ADMISSION SHROUDLESS SUPERSONIC TURBINE STAGE,

Abstract

Experimental studies of the efficiency of a low-admission shroudless supersonic turbine stage are described. The studies were carried out at three different radial clearances and at a 1.8 mm axial clearance. The study results indicate that the efficiency of a supersonic shroudless turbine stage significantly depends on the radial clearance. The effect of the radial clearance is more pronounced in a supersonic engine than a subsonic one. The effect of the radial clearance on the efficiency of a shroudless stage depends on the admission magnitude. (Author)
