A NOTE ON THE COMPLEMENTARY ENERGY BOUNDING THEOREM FOR TIME INDEPENDENT MATERIALS.

Abstract

The complementary energy bounding theorem for time independent materials is reformulated in terms of the external load space and external load paths. This formulation illustrates that the optimum bound obtainable can be identified with a maximum complementary work path in load space. In certain simple cases this optimum bound can be computed directly. (Author)
