TWO-PHOTON ABSORPTION IN ALKALI HALIDES. CALCULATION OF NONLINEAR OPTICAL ABSORPTION COEFFICIENTS.

Abstract

Values of the two-photon absorption coefficient have been predicted for nine of the alkali halides. There are indications that RbI and NaBr are more sensitive to two-photon absorption than materials studied previously. These findings have implications for the development of three-dimensional storage devices. (Author)
