AN INCLUSION THEOREM FOR LINEAR OPERATORS,

Abstract

There are derived necessary and sufficient conditions such that 'Mu is a member of C implies u is a member of K' where M is a linear operator, K is a closed set and C is a convex set. In particular, for matrices M, the following property is investigated: -phi = or < Mu = or < psi implies -phi = or < u = or < psi. Moreover, connections with inversepositivity are discussed.
