INCREASE IN STRUCTURAL STRENGTH OF WELDED JOINTS DUE TO PRELIMINARY REINFORCEMENT OF THE WELDED EDGES,
Abstract
The article briefly discusses strengthening of welded joints by preliminary reinforcement (thickening) of the weld area. A method developed by the Moscow Aviation Technical Institute is described. Results of reinforcement were tested to determine strength of the welded joint.
