METAL CREEP

Abstract

The book is intended for scientific workers, engineering personnel and aspirants investigating the mechanism of plastic deformation and carrying on research on the use of heat-resistant alloys. The book may also be useful to students of metallurgical and machine-building schools of higher education. The book deals with the mechanism of plastic deformation with creep at elevated temperatures. Data on sliding, deformation at grain boundaries, migration of grain boundaries, formation of substructures, and development of failures under creep conditions are presented. The nature and role of each of these processes in general deformation and their interaction is discussed. Metallurgical methods of quantitative evaluation of each component of plastic deformation are described. (Author)
