THEORETICAL DETERMINATION OF A BLAST PULSE ALONG THE GENERATRIX OF A WELL AND THE OPTIMUM PARAMETERS OF A WELL CHARGE,

Abstract

Cylindrical charges are becoming widely used in blasting, and in a number of cases they are more effective than spherical charges or charges which are close to spherical in shape. There is basis for considering that the initial stage of deformation and the destruction of rock is determined by the magnitude of a pulse emitted during the blasting of rock. This report establishes the propagation of specific pulses along the lateral surface of a well when a cylindrical charge is blasted in it as a function of the properties of the explosive, the properties of the rock, and other factors.
