INHIBITION OF THE THERMAL REACTION BETWEEN HYDROGEN AND OXYGEN.

Abstract

The effect of hydrogen bromide on the second limit of the hydrogen-oxygen reaction in B2O3-coated vessels was examined in detail, in terms of a mechanism suggested earlier. The effect of ethyl bromide on the first limit of the reaction has been studied using clean silica vessels and it is shown how the inhibition occurs. (Author)
