SHOCK TUBE EXPERIMENTS ON SNOW.

Abstract

Hugoniot curves were generated by measuring the pressures and velocities of a series of elastic shock waves that represent final shock states. A shock tube was employed to create a controlled shock pressure that was applied to the snow specimen. The data obtained were transformed into pressure-volume equations of state by applying the Rankine-Hugoniot conservation equations. (Author)
