Abstract

The following questions are considered: (1) the effectiveness of streptomycin therapy for guinea pigs infected by various methods; (2) the importance of defensive forces of the macroorganism during streptomycin therapy; (3) the rate at which the organs of the guinea pig are rid of tularemia bacilli under the influence of streptomycin therapy; (4) the effect of streptomycin on the properties of tularemia bacilli in the living organism and in an artificial culture medium; (5) the importance of the antibacterial activity of streptomycin in the mechanism of tularemia therapy.
