EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF ROTOR DOWNWASH IN GROUND EFFECT IN THE PRESENCE OF A STEP.

Abstract

The purpose of the experimental study is to investigate various flow parameters in the plane of symmetry of the flow field produced by a 14 inch diameter, four bladed rotor centered at one rotor radius above a vertical step. The parameters under investigation are the pseudo two dimensional streamline pattern, the resultant flow angles, and the resultant velocities. The forces acting on the rotor are also under investigation. (Author)
