POLYORGANOSILOXANES AS ANTIMICROBIAL COMPONENTS OF HYDROCARBON LUBRICANTS,

Abstract

The susceptibility of various Soviet and foreign cable lubricants to contamination by microorganisms was studied. The comparative resistance of individual components of hydrocarbon cable lubricants to microflora was evaluated. It was shown that polyethylsiloxane liquids numbers 4 and 5 have absolute resistance, and they are recommended as components of lubricants intended for use in tropical conditions. (Author)
