Abstract
The paper is a preliminary attempt to appreciate the meanings and significance of policy analysis. Policy analysis is presented within a broad theoretic framework, some basic concepts of policy analysis are explored, and a few main implications of the development of policy analysis for political science and for politics are indicated.
