APPLICATION OF INVARIANT IMBEDDING TO THE EIGENVALUE PROBLEMS FOR BUCKLING OF COLUMNS,
Abstract
A classical eigenvalue problem for the buckling of beams is transformed into an initial-value problem by means of invariant imbedding. This initial-value form is particularly well suited for numerical integration. Several examples are presented to illustrate the technique and to demonstrate the accuracy of the numerical solution.
