MODIFICATION OF THE EFFECTS OF ATROPINE ON HUMAN HEART RATE BY 2-PAMCl.

Abstract

Eight subjects each received atropine sulfate (2 mg/2 ml) and 2-PAMCl (600 mg/2 ml) in separately, simultaneously but in different injections, and in the same solution. Heart rates were counted as an indication of absorption of atropine. When the drugs were mixed before injection the time course of the heart rate response was delayed compared to the time course when the drugs were given simultaneously and separately. This suggests that the addition of 2-PAMCl to the atropine injection hinders the absorption of or impedes the action of atropine. (Author)
