THE ROLE OF THE HEMODYNAMIC AND CLOTTING PROPERTIES OF BLOOD IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF DISSEMINATED INTRAVASCULAR COAGULATION AND SHOCK.

Abstract

A description is given of the development of a recording device for some hemodynamic parameters from the monitoring screen of a flying spot microscope. The theoretical considerations for this device are outlined. Its practical realization and the problems connected with it are discussed in detail. A new optical development of a four-beam microscope is described. Some remarks are included on statistical evaluations. Results are reported which were derived from the statistical analysis of the experiments. The conclusions drawn from the model of interaction between hemodynamics and intravasal clotting are discussed, and it is shown how the disseminated intravascular coagulation can be described as a special case of this interaction model.
