A SATELLITE OBSERVATION OF THE RELATIVISTIC DOPPLER SHIFT.
Abstract
Relativity predicts a periodic variation in the observed frequency of satellite radio signals as the satellite moves from perigee to apogee in an eccentric orbit. This variation has been observed using the NASA sponsored GEOS-I satellite. The observation was made over a 4-day span using data obtained in 1966 by the TRANET doppler system. (Author)
