INVESTIGATION OF A LARGE SCALE NON-EQUILIBRIUM MAGNETOHYDRODYNAMIC GENERATOR.

Abstract

The report briefly summarizes efforts of the past contract year. The following tasks were completed: (a) Development of a uniform pre-ionization system; (b) Large scale MHD power generation in a non-equilibrium plasma; (c) Development of appropriate gas and plasma diagnostic methods for use in the MHD generator; (d) Development of a theoretical model to describe the generator performance; (e) Utilization of the above results to design and construct a new MHD channel.
