A PRECISION MEASURING DEVICE FOR TIME INTERVALS USING MULTISTABLE ELEMENTS,

Abstract

The use of multistable elements for sequential counting time interval measurement is promising if sampling errors can be reduced. A significant improvement in accuracy can be obtained by using a scale-time conversion of the interval between the start and first digitizing impulse and the interval between the last digitizing impulse and the stop impulse. Thus, no reduction in impulse period and no increase in counter stop requirement is needed.
