FLOOD PLAIN INFORMATION, BIG DRY CREEK, LITTLE DRY CREEK, (ARAPAHOE COUNTY), GREENWOOD GULCH, WEIR GULCH, LAKEWOOD GULCH, SOUTH LAKEWOOD GULCH, MCINTYRE GULCH, LITTLE DRY CREEK (ADAMS COUNTY), GRANGE HALL CREEK. VOLUME IV. DENVER METROPOLITAN REGION, COLORADO.

Abstract

The flood hazards along several of the minor South Platte River tributaries are pinpointed in this report. The report was prepared at the request of the Denver Regional Council of Governments with the endorsement of the Colorado State Water Conservation Board. It provides information on flood hazards to aid in reducing future flood damages, and identifies the flood hazard areas to assist local officials in making decisions concerning future development of the stream valleys. Information is based upon meager rainfall and runoff data, historical flood records, urban growth patterns, comparisons with similar watershed areas and other technical data pertinent to floods on these streams. General characteristics of the individual streams and affected drainage basins, detailed descriptions of study reaches and individual streams, a record of flood history of these streams, and the probable effect of floods greater than any of record are presented in this report.
