PHYSICS AND CHEMISTRY OF PROCESSING OF MATERIALS, NUMBER 2, 1968 (SELECTED ARTICLES),

Abstract

Two reports are presented. One examines the problem about determination of temperature fields and dynamic temperature stresses in plates under the action of a flux of radiative energy of constant intensity and in a half-space (or in a rod) under the action of a flux whose intensity varies periodically in time. The other study deals with the effect of alloying Mo, W, and Ta with various amounts of Re on the mechanical properties of the resulting alloys, and particularly on the lowering of the critical temperature which determines the transition between the viscous or malleable state and the brittle state.
