REACTIONS OF FREE RADICALS

Abstract

The esr spectra of a series of triarylboron anion radicals show selective line broadening effects. The cleavage of triphenylboron by alkali metals in DME has been shown to give biphenyl in boron molecule. Several reactions of diarylboron derivatives with alkali metals are also discussed. Also given are brief summaries of research on the cleavage of triptycene and quinolizinium ions by alkali metals, and on the decomposition of cumyl perchlorate.
