THEORETICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES IN CHEMICAL PHYSICS.

Abstract

The study of the triplet states of molecules and molecular crystals has been pursued. The subject divides into two parts: The study of the triplet states of isolated molecules; The study of triplet excitons in molecular crystals. The report considers both. Only the major features of the analyses are given. This report is concerned with three related topics: The theory of triplet Rydberg states of molecules, The theory of triplet excitons in crystals of aromatic hydrocarbons, The theory of triplet excitons in crystalline I2.
