A LONGITUDINAL-TRANSVERSE CRUCIFORM APERTURE IN THE WALL OF A SQUARE WAVEGUIDE,

Abstract

The polarization diagram of a cruciform aperture emitter in the wall of a square wave guide is examined, as a function of the deflection of the planes of polarization in the supply device and of the frequency and dimensions of the emitter. Theoretical and experimental work reveals that it is possible to control field polarization emitted by a cruciform aperture by controlling the polarization ffield of the basic waves which excite the square wave guide.
