THERMODYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF EQUATIONS OF LINEAR ELASTIC-VISCOUS ANISOTROPIC BODY,

Abstract

A vectorial equation of state was deduced for a linear viscoelastic continuum under applied stress in n-coordinate space. If a math condition is satisfied (expressed by an ordered inequality of two of two scaler derivs of two vectors), then potential energy and rate of energy dissipation at any point away from the origin (where, by definition, entropy =0) can be obtained. The condition is sufficient to prevent occurrence of any sinusoidal deformation under constant stress. (Author)
