ONE DIFFERENTIAL GAME WITH TIME CHOICE,
Abstract
A pursuer P and an evader E move in the plane, with constant speeds v, u, respectively but are free to change their direction at any time. P is allowed to 'fire' once, at a moment of his choice, the probability p of hitting E depending on the distance between them. The author reduces the game to one with terminal payoff. The nomenclature and methods are those of R. Isaacs. The author derives the optimal trajectories and the value of the game both for the case in which the end of the game takes place at an ordinary point (of the boundary of the 4-dimensional region in which P should fire at t equal 0) and the case of a singular point.
