PNEUMATIC SPRING WITH HYDRAULIC SHOCK ABSORBER.

Abstract

This patent describes a pneumatic spring with a hydraulic shock absorber, principally for heavy automobiles. This device is distinguished by the fact that, in order to regulate the oscillation frequency, it is provided with an annular counterpressure chamber, formed by the spring body and the main cylinder, filled with compressed gas and a working fluid and connected with the cavity between the rod and main cylinder using tubes, a section of which is provided with a check valve, which are submerged below the level of the fluid of the counterpressure chamber. The spring is distinguished by the fact that, with the aim of simplifying the design, the plunger pump is placed outside the spring and connected by tubes with the oil collecter and cavity of the main cylinder.
