TEMPERATURE EFFECTIVENESS OF MULTIPLE SANDWICH RECTANGULAR PLATE-FIN SURFACES.

Abstract

The temperature effectiveness for ten fin configurations of straight rectangular multiple sandwich plate-fin surfaces has been evaluated. These surfaces are of the type employed in compact heat exchangers. The effect of matching and mismatching of passages of double and triple sandwich fins has been investigated and has shown to be negligible. A refined method is outlined to determine the surface effectiveness of a triple sandwich fin. (Author)
